Class Description
In this parent-child class recommended for ages 18 - 36 months, we invite curious kiddos to explore different STEM topics through age-appropriate hands-on activities each week. After a short circle time, kids explore open-ended, taste-safe sensory stations designed engage little minds! Tots & Twos includes 30 minutes of guided instruction time and an hour of open play. Caregivers must stay with their child for the duration of the class. Our session begins at the listed time with 15 minutes of open play so that children can warm up to the space. Then we will move into the classroom and do guided activities for 30 minutes, ending with 45 minutes of open play in the play space. Need to cancel? Please call or email us 24 hours before the start time of the class to be eligible for a credit. If you have a class package, you may contact us to cancel any time before the start of the class. December Classes: 🪁 Float & Fly (week of 12/2): Experiment with the forces of air and wind as we blow bubbles, let things fly in the wind tunnel, use air to knock down towers, lift loads with balloons and build with suction cups! 🔆 Let It Glow (week of 12/9): Bring light to the dark as we build glowing structures with Magna-tiles and glow cubes, play with light & color, make rainbows with crystals, and tell a story with shadow puppets! ❄️ Welcome Winter (week of 12/16): Run your fingers through a snow sensory bin, learn about which animals hibernate and how, build towers with ice, and investigate different evergreen trees. [No classes the week of 12/23 & 12/30. Don't miss our Winter Wonderland and Noon Years Eve parties!] January Classes: 🪇 Sounds Like Fun- get ready to start moving in this fun class all about the science of sound! Test out different kid-friendly musical instruments, bang on pots and pans with different utensils, guess mystery sounds & attach jingle bells with magnets. 🌋 Rocks, Fossils & Volcanoes- get down and dirty as we investigate different kinds of rocks, dig for fossils in sand, press shapes into play dough to make fossils and experiment with kid-safe volcanic eruptions! 📖 Fairytales- The Gingerbread Man, Rapunzel, Jack, and The Billy Goats Gruff need our help! Use catapults, parachutes, slides and building skills to solve problems for these familiar storybook friends. ❄️ Groundhog's day & Weather: Will there be six more weeks of winter? Learn about this wacky holiday as we experiment with shadows, rain, snow, wind, and temperature.
