Mini Makers

Class Description

Our Mini Makers class, recommended for ages 3-6, takes STEM exploration a step further! After a circle time with songs and a read aloud, kids jump into STEM learning with hands-on activities and wrap up with a maker activity to take home! This class includes 45 minutes of guided instruction and 45 minutes of open play. Caregivers must stay in the building but do not need to attend the class portion unless desired. Mini Makers begins with 15 minutes of caregiver-supervised open play, then we move into our classroom for the guided activity, and we conclude with 30 minutes of caregiver-supervised open play. Need to cancel? Please call or email us 24 hours before the start time of the class to be eligible for a credit. If you have a class package, you may contact us to cancel any time before the start of the class. November Classes: 🖐️ Touchy- Feely STEM (week of 11/4): Get messy as we explore our sense of touch! Dig through rainbow spaghetti, experiment with weight and temperature, tickle your fingers through foam, velvet, and fur and let your toes explore a barefoot sensory walk! ⚙️ Simple Machines (week of 11/11): Get "ramped" up as we investigate pulleys, inclined planes, screws, levers, gears, and wheels & axles in this fun hands-on engineering class! 🍁 Leaves & Seeds (week of 11/18): Float leaves through the wind tunnel and rake them into piles, pluck seeds out of sunflower heads, shake and experiment with dried gourds, and make leaf prints in this fun fall STEM class! Note: we will not hold classes the week of Thanksgiving (week of 11/25), but please join us for open play! December Classes: 🪁 Float & Fly (week of 12/2): Experiment with the forces of air and wind as we blow bubbles, let things fly in the wind tunnel, use air to knock down towers, lift loads with balloons and build with suction cups! 🔆 Let It Glow (week of 12/9): Bring light to the dark as we build glowing structures with Magna-tiles and glow cubes, play with light & color, make rainbows with crystals, and tell a story with shadow puppets! ❄️ Welcome Winter (week of 12/16): Jump into the chilliest season with hands-on STEM fun! Run your fingers through a snow sensory bin, learn about which animals hibernate and how, build towers with ice, and investigate different evergreen trees. [No classes on Mon, 12/16 due to Winter Wonderland party] Note: There will be no classes the week of 12/23 & 12/30. Also don't miss our Winter Wonderland and Noon Years Eve parties!
